Re: When are we going to take a stand?

Where in the Bible can someone show me what Jesus said about Homosexuals? I see old testement law and Paul but nothing in the four gospels. And I grew up with Father that was a free-will baptist preacher. I promise not to post any more on this subject.

Romans 1:26 "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature.
Romans 1:27 "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly, and recieving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Romans 1:28 "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient:
Re: When are we going to take a stand?
"That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins (Romans 1:18ff). As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation."
That is the key to the whole bag of marbles right there. Very well put.
"Don't compromise your witness for a socially acceptable opinion that is void of godliness."
Can a brother get an Amen!?!?

There is a difference in a Church that lets gays or other folks into their Church in order to hear the Gospel and a Church for gay folks who do not attempt to show the right way.

ABSOLUTELY.
Re: When are we going to take a stand?

All of our pastors are sinners. There is no one without sin.
Yet we learn from those sinners. There are many who learned for years under the guidance of pastors that turned out to be serial pedophiles - yet people learned from them.
And like I said before - one can be homosexual without acting on those urges, just as homosexuals can be attarcted to the opposite sex and not act on it.

You are missing the big picture. Refer to hokie_bird's post that I quoted just two posts above this one.

[ QUOTE ]
One reason the world is in the shape it is in today is because we have become complacent. We sit by and say, "that really doesn't affect me, so I am not going to say anything." We don't take a stand so it goes on and then for each generation, the sin increases and eventually becomes accepted.

People listen to this man...those are the words of wisdom. Short, concise and full of truth.

Thanks for the kind words. Just speaking from experience.
Re: When are we going to take a stand?

Re: When are we going to take a stand?
Your absolutely right Mr. G.
We have become a society that accepts everything. And as long as it dont' affect us, we don't or wont' say anything.
So we haven't grown, if anything we have become stagnant and can't blame no one but ourselves, and those around us who won't say a word, about what goes on.
Some times i think not saying nothing is what has set some of our problems into motion. Accept it or be not accepted.
The 60's and some of the 70's was a time of turmoil in this country and in some ways a step forward and backward. I am wondering if the 90's and 00's are not the same.
